WITH THE MUSLIM CONSUMER MARKET TAGGED AS THE FASTEST GROWING CONSUMER SEGMENT IN THE WORLD\, THERE IS ENORMOUS GROWTH POTENTIAL FOR THE HALAL INDUSTRY WHICH IS CURRENTLY ESTIMATED TO BE WORTH USD 2.3 TRILLION.  \nThe Largest ASEAN Halal Trade and Consumer Expo\, HALFEST ASEAN 2017 is happening from 23rd to 27th August 2017 at the MINES International Exhibition and Convention Centre (MIECC)\, Kuala Lumpur. \nThe 6th edition of HALFEST ASEAN will be hosted by the Ministry International Trade & Industry (MITI) and organised by Halal Industry Development Corporation (HDC)\, the Malaysian Halal industry development authority with the strategic collaboration of the Department of Islamic Development of Malaysia (JAKIM) with the support of the Malaysia Malay Chamber of Commerce (DPMM) and the Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM). \nWith an estimated 100\,000 trade buyers and visitors with over 550 booths of innovative and quality Halal products and services to be showcased\, HALFEST ASEAN returns with enhanced trade and consumer programmes to meet the growing needs of the vibrant and diverse Halal players in Malaysia and across ASEAN\, all under one roof. \nHALFEST ASEAN will also kick off with the inaugural ASEAN TRADE MATCHING PROGRAMME brought to you by HDC. All HALFEST ASEANs exhibitors will have the opportunity to participate in a 1-to-1 trade matching session with specially invited buyers from ASEAN countries and throughout Malaysia where they can promote and sell their products beyond their current market reach. \nThe inaugural ISLAMIC BANKING\, TAKAFUL AND INVESTMENT WEEK will be organised in conjunction with HALFEST ASEAN 2017. It will be the platform for participating Islamic Banks\, Takaful and Investment Institutions to introduce and promote Shariah compliant investment and Islamic finance instruments while offering expert advice on Islamic loan applications and appropriate takaful products to qualified entrepreneurs while reaching out to a wider consumer market. \nThe MALAYSIAN HALAL CLINIC will provide the business community with information on Halal certification procedures while being the platform for HDC and JAKIM to assist entrepreneurs to acquire Halal certification for their products and services. \nHALFEST ASEAN 2017 is guaranteed to be energetic and rewarding for both the business community and consumers.
