BioMalaysia made its debut in 2003, offering specialised knowledge sharing, business networking and partnership programmes to biotechnology industry players.  Organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, the event has since seen tremendous growth and the addition of Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation (formerly known as BiotechCorp) in 2006 as a lead organizer as well as MyEvents international as joint organisers.

Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (Bioeconomy Corporation) itself is the leading economic development agency for the bio-based industry in Malaysia and is under the purview of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI). It facilitates the development of BioNexus Status companies in Malaysia which is an accreditation given to international and Malaysian bio-based companies that qualify them for fiscal incentives, grants and guarantees administered by Bioeconomy Corporation. It  is also the implementation agency for the Bioeconomy Transformation Programme (BTP), which is a platform provided by the Malaysian government for the private sector to channel and maximise commercial opportunities in bio-based industries, and transform Malaysia into a high income, inclusive and sustainable nation
MyEvents International provides full events management solutions to all aspects of the event while also taking part in the promotion and advertising of the event both locally and internationally.
